We deliver programmes that move people from connection to participation to meaningful contribution at every stage of their journey in Scotland.

Civic Recognition
Belonging in Scotland is the flagship initiative of Belonging in Action designed to advance social sustainability by supporting integration, participation, and meaningful contribution within communities across Scotland.
While BIA initiatives will ultimately impact all of the United Kingdom, we begin with Scotland by building on the strong foundation established at our launch event in March 2025.
Building connections between migrant professionals, students, and the wider Scottish community
Supporting underrepresented and minority communities particularly African communities
Creating pathways for individuals to develop networks and access opportunities
Contributing to stronger, more inclusive, and connected communities across Scotland and the UK
Official Launch
18 March 2025 @ Uwagboe's Kitchen and Grill, Edinburgh
Keynote delivered by Councillor Graham Campbell, Glasgow City marking civic recognition of BIA's work from day one.
Four Pillars of Integration
Every programme we run is designed to move people from the edges of society into the centre of it.

Community Networking Events
Building the connections that open doors.
Our networking events create the kind of room that rarely exists naturally. Professionals, migrants, students, and community leaders in the same space, with the specific intention of forming real connections.
Activities Include
- Curated networking evenings for professionals, migrants, and students
- Industry-specific meetups across finance, tech, healthcare, and more
- "First Connections" sessions for newcomers arriving in Scotland
- Peer-to-peer networking circles. Small, guided group discussions
- Community mixers hosted at local partner venues
Who It's For
Migrants, international students, young professionals, and anyone new to Scotland's professional and social scene.
Outcomes
How Our Model Works
Every programme we deliver follows a deliberate journey from the first handshake to lasting societal contribution.
Building Relationships & Networks
Every journey begins with a single introduction. Our Connection programmes create the conditions for genuine relationships to form between people from different backgrounds, professions, and communities.
Engaging in Opportunities
Connection alone is not enough. Participation means showing up in programmes, conversations, and community life. We create structured opportunities for people to engage, contribute ideas, and grow.
Adding Value to Society
The ultimate measure of belonging is contribution. When people feel seen, supported, and connected, they give back to their communities, their professions, and Scotland as a whole.
